Of course.. after photographing my fourth NESA (National Employment Services Association) Conference this time @ the Sydney Hilton I’m glad to say this new gear rocks my world; “Oh Yeh Baby!” If you don’t know already or haven’t been to a conferencing centre for a while, these places are dark enough that our (photographers) cameras have a hard time exposing the available light, without using a tripod, getting grainy images or camera shake. So here’s my new gear.

My best year yet is the D700 is able to handle all the conditions of a conferencing with impeccable results. Cleaner files, higher dynamic range, better graduation in tones and the amazing awesome ability of shooting in low light at high ISO’s with very little noise (grain). And the Nikkor 24-70mm f2.8 lens is sharp as ever. All in all we have happy clients and a happy photographer, job well done.

Truly; lets let the images do the talking

It’s been a massive week, long plane flights, extensive bus tours, cable carts, fancy old ships and just making myself looking like a tourist. That’s right I went to Japan to photograph the delegates of Metcash, experiencing Japan’s culture and historical sites, now I’m back.

My other role was to teach these newly aquatinted photographic enthusiast how to get the best out of their 350D Canon cameras All 200 attendees received a brand spanking new camera.. I was put in the deep end in teaching since I shoot Nikon and I only had the chance to hold the camera on the flight. I’m pretty sure I faired quite well, I always read my camera manuals and a big thanks to the many demonstrations on Youtube.

Of course I captured a great amount of images during the start of a short cherry blossom season, check out more images after the bump.

Japan has been a great opportunity I won’t forget quickly. Impeccably this place rocks, their is no rubbish anywhere, Tokyo and Osaka are very clean, the crime rate is very low and out of the thousands of bikes; I saw only a few had locks and lastly they seem to be a very polite healthy race. I now give my greatest respect to the people of Japan and will return for a real holiday.
